Your Hosts

Hi there! We’re Ashley and Chris, the husband-and-wife team behind Stoney Creek Stays. We fell in love with hosting through our own travel experiences and have turned that passion into a mission: helping guests create unforgettable memories in beautiful homes that feel like their own.

 

Whether it's a cozy cabin near the lake, a beachfront getaway, or a peaceful retreat in the hills, we carefully design and manage each property to ensure comfort, cleanliness, and a five-star experience from start to finish.

Do you allow pets?

Do you allow smoking?
We do not allow smoking in any of our homes. Smoking is allowed outside of the homes. Some of our homes have special devices in them to detect cigarette or marijuana smoke. Violation of this policy will result in a $500 fine. Please do not throw your cigarette butts on the ground.
What is the check in and check out time?
Please refer to the property handbook.
May I request an early check in?
We will certainly do our best to accommodate an early check in; however, we cannot guarantee an early check in until we know whether or not we have another group checking out that morning. Unless you want to purchase a half day stay. Please let us know and we will see if we can accommodate that for you.

We will certainly do our best to accommodate a late check out; however, we cannot guarantee a late check out until we know whether or not another group arrives that afternoon. We usually will know 24-48 hours before departure to confirm since we have last minute bookings. If available, we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Why has the price increased since I last looked?
We use a pricing tool that considers market demand, so our prices are constantly fluctuating.
Can I extend my stay?
Guests may extend their stay if the property is available.
Can I have a party?

Do you provide kitchen supplies?
Our kitchen is stocked with the basic cooking supplies: plates, cups, bowls, baking sheets, baking pans, utensils, silverware, wine glasses, coffee, etc. You are welcome to bring your personal specialty item(s), if needed, for your visit.

Chris’ home was perfect for our family of 9 ! Perfect setup right at the beach—making it it easy to come and go. You could even drive on the beach there. The house had everything we needed and it was very nice and very clean. Loved the fenced yard to keep the little ones and fur babies safe. The home was very cute, and cozy. The 2nd bedroom was perfect for our grandson that is autistic, he could get in and out of the bottom bunk with no problems. My only issue was the 2nd bathroom was detached from the house, and you would have to go outside, which at night I worried about security, what animals you might meet... For getting rid of the sand before going into the house, it was perfect... I think our overall experience was good and thank you for the lift to the lake shore....

I cannot express how lovely it is for the WHOLE family including our pups to feel welcome in a rental space. The house was lovely and had everything you could think of needing, including dog toys! It was so close to the beach and easy access to the ferry and local restaurants/stores/bars. Chris was very responsive and helped us tremendously when needed. It's an ideal place for a large group, with the 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The kitchen is large, cookware, dishes, utensils, flatware, glasses are plentiful. Everything was clean and ready for us even earlier than stated, which was very nice. We also needed about 45 extra minutes to clear out at the end of the stay, and the request was handled quickly and graciously. Chris was extremely friendly and quick to respond. However, we had NO problems whatsoever with anything at all. He also went the extra mile to provide a pack & play, highchair, and installed a twin mattress in one of the rooms so a little one could sleep near her parents. The location itself is beautiful and walkable to the lake. Also, the resident deer are entertaining and fun to watch. Highly recommend, and we would be happy to return in the future!

With a toddler, an infant, and an elderly dog we find it challenging to travel at times. Our dog is blind so the enclosed pet area allowed our dog to enjoy the openness without getting lost. We remained on the property for the entirety of our stay. The on site amenities were awesome. Our kids really enjoyed the pool and onsite fishing. Movie night was easy with the open kitchen/living area design. We chose to cook most of our meals which was very easy due to a fully stocked kitchen. I also want to mention the onsite laundry. With two kids we had to do a load of laundry and Chris’ home had everything we needed. Every room has it’s own entrance. This was great for our early risers that wanted to get some early fishing in, without disturbing the rest of the house. Chris was also very responsive. Every text and question answered within minutes. Chris’ home is great for a family retreat and the first Airbnb that we have considered returning to. We can’t wait till our next visit.

This place was AMAZING! I came down from houston to celebrate my 25th birthday after a beach outing and it was so homey and the space was perfect for everyone who was staying. Everything was very clean and put together. It was nice to relax and escape the city. The ferry is a plus and a nice experience. We've booked this house in Port Bolivar for a weekend getaway with friends, and it was a great experience. The beach was within easy walking distance, which made the location perfect for our stay. We loved everything about this place. The pool was a perfect amenity, and the house had everything you need to feel right at home. It is very well kept, and fit our 2 cars and 2 golf cart rentals too!

This was a cool house! It's in a great location, had plenty of space for everyone, beds were comfortable, and we really appreciate that it was well stocked with towels! The fenced in yard and the gated deck were a HUGE plus to let our dogs (and us) have a little freedom off the leash! The private walkway was wonderful making it easy to go back and forth to the beach. Chris was very kind and responsive. Loved our stay and would come back again!

If you have a larger group and would like to be within walking distance of numerous activities, this is the place to visit. A 2 minute walk from beachside and fishing from basically right in there backyard, there is plenty to do. Walmart is an easy 7 minute drive away and if you want to experience other fishing locations there’s a wide variety of locations you can drive to well within a couple miles. The host is very attentive and very accommodating. We felt right at home with our large group and will more than willingly reserve this location again for our next time traveling out to Galveston.

You can’t beat the location of this house. Our kids really enjoyed the pool and just being able to go down some steps to enjoy the lake. The house is on the older side but it’s very spacious and kids really enjoyed the bunk room above the kitchen. There was an issue with some pluming in the kitchen but Chris was very responsive and easy to contact and he sent someone to check it out and was helpful with remediating the situation since it did create a slight inconvenience for our party. If not for that it would have been a perfect stay but I’m sure the owners will be fixing that issue for future guests.

We booked this Airbnb last minute after having issues at another property, and I’m so glad we found this home. It was spacious, clean, welcoming, and gave our family the peaceful stay we needed. The kids especially loved the back porch and all the games available throughout the house there was always something to do, and no one was ever bored. Although we had a minor shower issue, Chris was very attentive and responsive, and quickly sent someone to help. He made a stressful last-minute situation much easier for us. We had the most incredible stay at this beach house for my birthday! From the moment we arrived, it truly felt like a home away from home. The location was absolutely beautiful private, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Being able to walk to the beach every day while also enjoying the private pool made the entire experience feel like our own little island getaway. What made this trip even more special was having all of my siblings together for the first time in 3 years, and this home gave us the perfect place to reconnect, relax, laugh, and make memories we’ll never forget. Even though town was only about 20 minutes away, the property felt secluded in the best possible way. The home was equipped with literally everything you could think of! The open convent allowed all of us to crowd around my mom in the kitchen like we used too as kids! Check in was easy check out was easy. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Unfortunately, this Airbnb didn't live up to our expectations when we arrived. Quinn let us know that the disposal might not be working, and they were in the process of fixing it. We are the ones who ended up fixing the garbage disposal. A handyman came out the next day to replace the disposal, but ended up only causing more issues, so again we fixed the disposal. They offered us compensation that was never received for fixing the issue, and Airbnb was the one who ended up helping us after our trip ended. There was no BBQ grill like previously advertised; we are the ones who went and bought one and had to leave it there because we got on a flight. Overall, the house is fine, but with the multiple issues we had during our stay, it was not worth the price. It was quite upsetting to note that there were no blinds in the master bathroom or bedroom, and when brought to attention, they took over half of our stay to replace them. The electrical panel in the pool toy room was also not covered.

This is a really nice, peaceful location with a great unobstructed view of the beach. Bonus is the beach directly in front of the house has restricted vehicle traffic which is nice. The grassy yard and porches are really nice to relax at when you get back from the beach. The layout of the house with ensuite bathrooms and a half bath would be great for a large family gathering and yet equally it wasn't too large feeling for when just two of us stayed there. Chris is a great host and extremely quick to respond.

I liked that it was near the beach. I did not like that I pretty much had to vacuum the floors due to them being dirty. The dishes had food left on them from previous use. The sofas/living-room, I wished we used but there was a huge stain on the ottoman that drip dried onto the carpet. I don’t know if something was spilled by prior visitors or a pet had an accident. Regardless, it was not cleaned. One of the queen bed sheets had stains on them, another had hair. I had to take both those sheets off. Just because pets are allowed doesn’t mean they should be allowed on any furniture. The cleaning crew definitely needs to make changes because this house needs a really good deep clean asap.

The unit has a beautiful modern layout with plenty of storage, great natural light, and the convenience of two off-street parking spots right outside the door - a rare and incredibly helpful feature. Overall the place is pretty nice and in a good location for sure. However, upon arrival we found the place a little bit dirty. The towels were damp and stained, it was dusty, and had an old timey smell. Also there was no toilet paper or paper towels and the second bedroom is smaller than expected. Furthermore, the living room TV screen became static and nearly impossible to use due to the screen malfunctioning out of no where only about a week into our stay. The WiFi was also slow and had to be reset at times. I’m not going to speak too poorly of the host, but I will say he kicked us out days before our check out date, notifying us the night/evening before and had already booked it for someone else. Kicking us out early made it a difficult check out process.

The Negatives: Wifi was down for 3 weeks [host finally called to have modem replaced after multiple requests from us--we had to WFH with our own phone hot spots]. Stayed for 3 months and everything that was broken when we arrived [Garbage Disposal (used a plunger on it daily due to back ups), Dishwasher (internal parts were melted), Couch (literally on its last legs), Coffee table (broken leg)] remained broken our entire stay. Host only swapped out the dust buster charging cord and broken garbage can. Bathroom vent was caked in dust/grime (I cleaned it, it was nasty). No hooks in bathroom at all [I bought/put some up]. Kitchen drawers/cabinets full of crumbs. The Positives: Host seemed like a nice enough guy, but in over his head, maybe? Location is great--safe 10 minute walk to a small cute shopping area, 20 - 30 minute walk to a larger downtown area. He said he was going to fix and replace all the broken things after we left--hope that's true, bummer we didn't get to experience that.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for almost three months during ski season while working remotely and loved it. There is a lot of space - big open rooms including the bathroom and laundry/storage room and the walk-in closet in the master bedroom. There’s also a large desk in the bedroom that you can use as a workspace. The bed is huge and very comfy! The bathroom can be accessed from the main room and the master bedroom. The internet worked well for us working remotely and for my boyfriend’s gaming. The kitchen is well-stocked, including Tupperware. We never heard a peep from the neighbors through the walls and the neighborhood is very safe and walkable! There are tvs in both the main room and the master bedroom. The smart tv tech on them is old so you can only access Netflix, but a Netflix account is provided for you. We had trouble getting the fold out couch bed to open, so it may be worth messaging the host first if you’re counting on that bed. Overall a great place to stay!
