Sand Sister I

You wake up, open the door, and the Gulf is right there. No road to cross, no boardwalk, no hunting for a parking spot. Coffee on the covered deck while the surf does the talking. By ten the kids have claimed the sand out back; by dusk you're grilling with salt in the air and the sun dropping straight into the water. Four bedrooms, ten people, one very short walk. This is the beach house your family starts asking about again in January.

ABOUT THIS SPACE
The house sits on stilts with nothing between the back steps and the water. Park underneath, carry the cooler up once, and don't touch the car again.
Upstairs is the room everyone ends up in: shuttered windows facing the Gulf and a sectional deep enough that somebody always falls asleep on it.

The kitchen opens right into it, so whoever's cooking never gets stuck alone — four barstools at the granite peninsula, a wine fridge, stainless appliances, dishwasher, Keurig, cookware enough to feed ten. Six chairs at the dining table in the bay window.

Downstairs is a second living room — recliner sofa, its own TV, a wet bar. Kids take the movie down there while the adults keep talking upstairs. Washer and dryer behind a barn door, so you rinse swimsuits nightly instead of hauling home a car full of sand.

Four bedrooms sleep ten across eight beds, everyone on a Purple mattress:
• Bedroom 1 — King, private ensuite behind a barn door, TV, mini fridge.
• Bedrooms 2 and 3 — King each, ceiling fans, curtains that hold the morning sun back.
• Bedroom 4 — The bunk room: two double-stack bunks, two queens and two singles.
• Living room — Sofa bed for the tenth person.

Three full baths mean no morning traffic jam: two walk-in showers, a full tub for the little ones, two double vanities. Hotel toiletries, central air, WiFi, board games.

Outside is the point. Two covered decks wrap the house — one with deep wicker seating under string lights, the other with a dining table, Adirondack chairs and the grill. An outdoor shower stops the sand before the door.

LOCATION & WHAT'S NEARBY
Beach side of the Bluewater Highway on Follett's Island, between Surfside Beach and San Luis Pass — far enough out that this sand never feels crowded.

• Your beach — 0 minutes. Seagull Ave access is steps away; cars reach the sand a few houses down.
• Quintana Beach County Park — 5 miles. Free vehicle access and a fishing pier.
• Bryan Beach — 3 miles of undeveloped sand for shelling and surf fishing.
• Freeport Municipal Marina — 10 miles. Boat ramps and charter fishing.
• Lake Jackson — 15 miles. Grocery, restaurants, everything you forgot.
• Sea Center Texas — 15 miles. Free aquarium: redfish, sharks, sea turtles.
• Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge — 20 miles. Top-ranked birding in North America.
• Galveston Island — 45 minutes over the San Luis Pass toll bridge.
• Houston and NASA's Johnson Space Center — 75 to 90 minutes.
Stock up in Lake Jackson on the way in; most groups never move the car again.
WHO THIS HOME IS BEST FOR
• Multi-generational families. Three kings for the adults, a bunk room for the kids, two living rooms so the cartoon and the conversation happen at once.
• Families with young kids. The beach is out the back door — you watch them from your deck chair.
A family with six kids said the one-minute walk made their week.
• Two or three couples sharing a week. Everyone gets a king. Nobody's on an air mattress.
• Anglers. Surf fishing out back, Quintana's pier and the marina close by.
• Anyone who needs a reset — a guest here for a birthday called it a peaceful oasis.
Not a fit for parties or events beyond the ten guests on the reservation.

GUEST ACCESS
The entire house is yours — both levels, both covered decks, the outdoor shower, the laundry and the sand out back. Nothing is locked off or shared.
Check-in is contactless through a smart lock; your code arrives before you travel, so you can land any time after 4:00 PM. Checkout is 11:00 AM.
One thing to hear from us rather than discover on arrival: we live in the house next door. It's why an AC problem was fixed by the next day, and why guests write that they never felt crowded.

PARKING
Free parking on the premises — no permit, no pass, no fee. The driveway sits under the elevatedhouse and holds several vehicles, so most groups arrive in two or three cars and everyone fits.

There's a designated accessible spot too.

Because the home is on stilts, you unload underneath and carry up one flight of exterior stairs. No ground-floor bedroom, no elevator — tell us ahead if steps are hard for anyone.
